Lake Guntersville State Park invites you to join us each January weekend beginning with January 8, 2010 and the first weekend in February as we study and observe our national symbol, the Bald Eagle. We study its behavior and view families of Eagles in their natural habitat. View our schedule of events and guest speakers.

Eagles nest along the banks of the Guntersville Reservoir and Tennessee River in Guntersville State Park and the surrounding area. Guided hikes take you to nesting sites where you can catch a glimpse of these amazing birds as they take flight in the early morning hours and return to the nest in the evenings. Indoor interpretive programs see guests speakers with live birds such as David Haggard (pictured above) with Tennessee State Parks, John and Dale Stokes with SOAR, the Montgomery Zoo, and many other interesting groups and individuals providing exciting programs.

Make plans now to attend a weekend or two in January and February 2010. Special Eagle Weekend 2010 Packages are being offered in our overnight accommodations. Call our front desk at 256-571-5440 to make your reservations now.

Sit back, relax, and unwind at beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park. We can't wait to see you!
