Lake Guntersville State Park Calendar of Events
Guntersville State Park is well known for its Eagle Awareness programs,
guided nature hikes and interpretive programs. We offer some of the
finest activities to help you enjoy all Mother Nature has to offer.
Unless noted, all programs are free. So
sit back, relax, refresh, and re-invigorate.

Saturday, Guided Nature Hikes
Departs from the Country Store or Park Office at 9 a.m.

Take to the woods on a guided nature hike. Our park naturalist provides
you with an entertaining and informative program on any one of a number
of trails. Hikes follow gentle to moderate trails and last approximately
2 hours. Bring water and snacks and be sure to wear comfortable shoes
and clothing. Don't forget your camera! You never know when a deer or
eagle might make an appearance.

September 6 -
Annual Labor Day Dog Show Categories include biggest, smallest, most talented, best dressed,
oldest, youngest, and fluffiest. Doggie bags filled with prizes for the
winners. Event begins at 2 p.m. at the Nature Center located inside the
campground.
October 10 - Fall
Color Hike
Take in the beauty of autumn on this nature hike. Vibrant hues are just
beginning to dot the landscape. Bring your camera to capture the
brilliance of the season. Hike begins at 2 p.m. Meet in the lobby of the
lodge.
October 17 - Fall
Color Hike
Autumn is really coming into season now! Join us and discover the wonder
of Taylor Mountain and Lake Guntersville in beautiful Lake Guntersville
State Park. Hike begins at 2 p.m. Meet in the lobby of the lodge.
October 30 - Fall Color Hike and Halloween Haunted Hay
Ride
Fun for the whole family! Enjoy a haunted hay ride, music, games, food,
and much more. Nature hike takes place at 2 p.m. Haunted Hayride begins
at dusk. November 26 - Thanksgiving at
Lake Guntersville State Park Join us for a holiday meal with all the
trimmings. Lunch buffet served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
November 26 -
January 1 - Christmas at Lake Guntersville State Park Enjoy
Christmas in the mountains at beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park!
Over one dozen Christmas trees, large wreaths above 5 stone fireplaces,
extravagant decorations, live poinsettias, and much more adorn the lodge
atop Taylor Mountain. Make plans to spend sometime and enjoy the
holidays at your Alabama State Park.
December 25 -
Christmas at Lake Guntersville State Park Join us for a hearty
breakfast and return for a fabulous lunch buffet with all the
traditional Christmas trimmings to include roast beef on the carving
station, ham, sweet potato casserole, scrumptious desserts and salads,
and much more. December 31 - New Years Eve at Lake
Guntersville State Park We are jamming with an
evening full of fun and music! Live entertainment
featuring the band Second Hand Lincoln and an all you can
eat buffet in the Grandview Ballroom make for an
exciting way to ring in the New Year. Be sure to join us and
to inquire about our special rates on hotel rooms.

January Weekends - Eagle Awareness Programs
Join us every weekend in January beginning with January
8 and the first weekend of February for Eagle Awareness
weekends. Informative speakers, live birds, guided
nature hikes and much more make these weekends
memorable. Scheduled guest
speakers provide entertaining programs with live birds each weekend.
